Food security, our founding principle

Les Moulins de la Concorde, the milling company of the Eclosia group, aims to ensure the regular supply of various types of fresh flour to the country. From wheat sourcing to the storage of finished products, the company plays a crucial role in the country's food security. The meticulous adherence to biosecurity and processes at all stages of production is validated by numerous international quality certifications.

The sixteen silos, with a total capacity of 40,000 tons of wheat, allow the preservation of raw material in optimal conditions for several months, ensuring the continuity of the supply of freshly milled flour to the country. This was particularly evident in the uninterrupted supply of flour during the health lockdowns of 2020 and 2021.

The combination of wheat types and milling techniques allows LMLC to offer a wide range of specialty flours.

Les Moulins de la Concorde is the result of a partnership between Eclosia and Namib Mills, a company operating several mills in Namibia and Southern Africa. The company, listed on the Development Enterprise Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, is owned by nearly 2,000 shareholders.

Most of our flour production is sold through international tenders to the State Trading Corporation, which redistributes it in turn to local users after applying government subsidies. This mechanism ensures a competitively priced supply to the STC and allows Mauritians to consume quality products at a lower cost.

Les Moulins de la Concorde provide 160 jobs and rely on the services of various local businesses.

In 2008, with a commitment to sustaining its activities, Les Moulins de La Concorde entered into a supply agreement for wheat with two major French players in the cereal sector: Soufflet – now part of the inVivo group – and the National Interprofessional Office of Large Crops (ONIGC). This guarantees Mauritius the possibility of acquiring 130,000 tons of wheat even in the case of reduced global supply.

Our products support the activities of other operators in the agri-food and livestock sectors, which are significant consumers of fresh wheat bran.
